Norwegian browser maker, Opera has signed a non-exclusive global deal with Telenor. The agreement between the two companies is likely to see them turn up with some new ideas for the mobile web.
According to Opera, its Global Frame Agreement might result in a version of its Opera Mini mobile web browser adapted for use on Telenor handsets.
As per the agreement, Telenor’s business units can co-brand, issue and run the Opera Mini mobile browser.
According to Morten Karlsen S¸rby, EVP and head of corporate development at Telenor, it wants to provide mobile Internet with a great user experience to everyone. The deal will mean that Telenor gets more users by giving them an unparalleled Internet experience on every local operator in its network. Telenor has customers in Sweden, Russia, Bangladesh and Hungary.
The initial version of Opera Mini for Telenor is supposed to be available in September. Opera Mini is the most widely used mobile browser around the world with 60 million users.
