Austin entrepreneurs Robinson Cocke, Trey Ikard and Dave Powell, have launched MobiTX, Inc., a mobile advertising company that offers Free Mobile Airtime to its subscribers. The Free Mobile Airtime service is subsidized by advertisers and marketers. The service will launch in the summer of 2008.

Additionally, the Austin based company offers its Transactional Mobile MarketingTM platform to advertisers and marketers that are looking to target the 250,000,000 US mobile phone users. In addition to its Transactional Mobile Marketing platform, the company also offers GPS and SMS-based marketing solutions to its clients.

MobiTX is be led by CEO, Dave Powell, former senior executive at Austin based MessageOne (acquired by Dell in February 2008). Prior to MessageOne, Powell served as President and CEO of Metapa, (now Greenplum) in Los Angeles, CA. “We are all very excited about this new venture and operating in the mobile advertising sector,” said Dave Powell. “The business of using advertising to subsidize services is well understood in the market and it is about time this model was brought to the mobile phone marketplace.”

Trey Ikard will serve as President of MobiTX. Ikard was formerly an executive with MessageOne and was the founder, President and CEO of HillCast Technologies, Inc. (acquired by The Charles Schwab Corporation in 2005). “I am very excited about launching MobiTX and our Free Mobile Airtime offering,” said Trey Ikard. “With Austin’s strong background in advertising along with its strong support of mobile and wireless, Austin is the perfect location for MobiTX’ headquarters.”
